Okay. My school, OHS, is being really annoying lately. the teachers are planning to go on srike and are also planning a work to rule.Instead of an hour for lunch, the teachers want their full two hours. Meaning, either our school day will go 'till 4:25 instead of 3:25, or calsses will be cut short. Clubs and activities will be cancelled, dances will cease and the funnest event of the year....The Rockin Relay, will be cancelled as well(if it goes on long enough). If this does not work, then they will actually go on strike and stop working. MEANING....if we miss enough work, we'll have to go to summer school. If we miss too much of the curriculum, my whole school district will be held back a year.
I think it sucks, majorly....your opinions? _________________ I wish you said goodbye

Yeah, that sucks majorly. Who needs two hours to eat?! I don't even need one. I don't even need half an hour. Obviously these teachers aren't bringing their ingredients to school and mixing them and putting them in the oven. It's most likely Hot Pockets or something like that. It takes what, a minute to heat up? Five minutes to eat? Nobody needs two hours. If they stop working, then get the cops to arrest them. Heck, try to get them sued. _________________ I'm not dead and a majority of my body parts are still attached and functioning. That, in my book, classifies as "Fine." |

They want their two full hours, not to eat, but because they are not being payed to cut their lunch off. As well, I believe they are striking because they are working without a contract....I'm not sure. _________________ I wish you said goodbye

We get 20 minutes at school, but there's two lunch periods, so teachers get around 40 minutes off, if they don't teach 6th hour classes. But yeah, I think what the teachers at your school are doing is selfish and it's depriving you guys of all the stuff that you need. On the other hand, you get some time off in the middle of the year, even if you have to make it up later. _________________ かくさいがいであいがしらに

O_o I've looked in the forum a few times but I've never seen this....
I say we should all be like the Jemhedar (Robo man spelling check!) and have "white" which has all the stuff we need to be heathy and it would be put in like an IV on it would always be on you. Then we wouldn't have to worry about lunch time at alll!
anyway.... I want to get IPB so i can see the topic title from the outside..... I mean.... Update us on the current situation oh Lily One! _________________ "I can explain it for you, but I can't understand it for you."

Nothing much has changed really....they're still on work-to-rule.....BUT! One day, we all went out at lunch by the road and waved signs at cars for support. _________________ I wish you said goodbye

Dude that sucks so very very much. I pity you. I went on strike once, long time ago, and yeah, waving signs at cars is fun...but not when it makes you go to summer school. Who on earth needs two whole freakin hours to eat lunch? What are they, slugs? Come on, people! Teachers are supposed to be teaching for their students, not for their lunch hours! At the high school I went to, the teaches only got forty min for lunch, and they didn't starve. Eat when you get home, wusses! Jeez. Dude I pity you. _________________ "We are such stuff as dreams are made of..."

Well, they've slapped up a partial contract and voted, as far as I know, everything's back to normal. _________________ I wish you said goodbye
