I'm an organic/natural food guy myself. God gave us healthy food to eat, not the scraps of meat that are left after the choice meat has been taken off the cow (I'm talking about a certain fast food chain Wink )

I've heard that one out of three Americans are overweight. And what gets me is that these people eat at these fast food places and then want to sue them later when they're fat. "MacDonalds made me fat!"

Yeah. MacDonalds was stuffing your face with their 99 cent burgers and cokes. It's a torture chamber, dude. (I'm trying to be funny and making a point, not spiteful.)

People don't take responsibility of their own bodies, and it hurts them later in life. That's why obesity and heart problems are so rampant now.

On the news there is usually some report about healthy and unhealthy foods. The reporters say, "Scientists in Argentina have studied this for nearly a decade, and they are now beginning to think that fast food could negatively affect your health." Wow, that's news. "And they actually think, thought the evidence is inconclusive, that organic and natural food may be good for your health!"

Comments, anyone?

Well I can see that. I won't eat at a lot of fast food places, like McDonalds, and Tacobell (just because my friend got sick from them) I would rather not eat at places like KFC because I've heard bad things about them. So I see your point there.

Now do you care about eating GE (I forget what the other term for it was) foods? I've heard random stuff about the hormones in cows, so I'd rather not eat that, but I don't mind. Vegtables on the other hand I don't care about, as long as the enhancements aren't doing anything to me, like the hormones in meat, and just help them to grow better or whatever.

Genetic Engineering. My thoughts are don't mess around with plants and animals. They're fine the way they are. I don't think that scientists really know what they're doing when they try to change the cell structure of plants and animals to profit from it in some way. Heck, they don't even know what they're doing when they try to clone animals. Every clone died. Do we really want them messing with our food supply? Here's a link to a site that talks more about GE: http://www.truefoodnow.org/home_whatis.html

Oh and while we're on the subject of hormones in cows, here is a funny link to a "Mad cow test." http://www.cybersalt.org/cleanlaugh/madcow.htm

O_o? Sure, don't try splicing animals or microoganisims with plants. But plants with other plants I say is fine. It's really more of hybred plants I suppose. See that I find very much fine, I read somewhere that people were getting upset because they were mixing two varietys of corn that was it's own pesticide, at least something like that.

Though.... if they made a plant that had a mind of it's own we could see how a germ spreads on a much larger scale....

oh yeah, here's an exaple of a hybred I love ^_^ yummy yummy yum yum!
http://shop.store.yahoo.com/chefshop/dadapl20ha.html I know Wild Oats sells them, I wish i still had the link to the site of the company that Wild Oats sold, but yeah, Pluots are t3h most wonderful thing you could evr eat ^_^

Yeah, making hybrids sounds fine to me too, as long as they're not making big changes to it. But when you start mixing corn with apples or something like that, things could get weird.

Corn flavored apples......0.o I would rather that scientists not mess around with my food supply. I mean, if they're going to screw around with my food...at least make it decent. We don't need cloning(much), and we don't need more varieties of plants. What we need is a bigger supply of such and for people to stop endangering the animals and plants we have.

What about those that they have engineered to repel pests or grow in poor soil? Their plans are to help third world countries with those. True, they're primarily looking for a profit, but what happens with, for example, red cross buys the seed and distributes it in africa? African people get food, scientists get profits and mostly everyone's happy.

Do you mean every clone died prematurely?

Okay, that works. I just want to make sure they know what they're doing before they say "Hey! It works!"

That goes for medicine too. Can't they make it without side effects? All I hear on the TV anymore is, "Take Nexium. The purple pill. Women should not take Nexium if they are pregnant or are planning to become pregnant. Side effects include headache, nausea, sideache, heartburn, vomiting, dizzinness, heart attack, liver failure, and death. Ask your doctor if Nexium is right for you."

They all died either when they were born, or not long (minutes to weeks) after.

HA HA HA! I love listening to the side effect crap on medicines. It's like docters are trying to create some kind of panacea, and then when they claim to have, they list the side effects that are often worse than the initial problem in itself. Oh, and hi, call me Annwas. This is my first post on this board.
